Prepare for Your Container Delivery

We want your delivery experience to be smooth, efficient and hassle-free, but for this to go according to plan, here are some things to do before the shipping container's arrival.

1. Site Preparation

Before your container arrives, it's essential to prepare the delivery site. Ensure that there is enough space to accommodate the container and that the ground is level and stable. Clear any obstacles, such as debris or overhanging branches, to allow for safe access and placement of the container by a tilt flatbed truck.

2. Access to Site
Make sure that the delivery location is easily accessible for our delivery truck. (A tilt flatbed truck.) Clear pathways and remove any obstacles that may hinder the delivery process. If your site has specific access requirements, please inform us in advance so that we or our delivery partners can make appropriate arrangements.

3. Permits and Regulations:
Check local regulations and permit requirements for container placement on your property. Depending on your area’s zoning laws and building codes, you may need to obtain permits or approvals before receiving your container. Our team can provide guidance and assistance to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

4. Utilities and Services:
Consider the placement of your container in relation to utilities such as power lines, water pipes, and sewer systems. Ensure that there are no underground obstructions or utilities that may be damaged during delivery. If necessary, arrange to temporarily disconnect or relocate utilities to accommodate the container placement.

5. Container Access:

After delivery, ensure you can enact a plan to easily access the doors. If you require frequent access to the container, consider positioning it close to existing structures or access points. You may also want to install ramps, steps or platforms to facilitate entry and loading/unloading operations.

If you neglected to outline exactly where you would like your shipping container to be placed for easy access, or if you have new information you feel is important for the delivery driver, please reach out to our customer management team at info@OntarioShippingContainers.ca.
